Atclyff prepares students targeting Independent School Entrance in the United States of America. Learn more about our services for ISEE Prep Class, Course Review, and Private Tutoring below.
ISEE is a requirement for applications to many independent secondary schools. Many competitive schools also accept the SSAT exam scores. ISEE tests both knowledge and skills. After an initial discussion with the student and the family, we can suggest if ISEE, SSAT, or both tests should be included in the study plan and considered for the secondary school admissions.
Atclyff Team offers a rigorous review program for success on the ISEE that is unique in comparison to other national prep courses, self-study guide books, and online platform material. Our approach is to diagnose each student's preliminary strengths and weaknesses on the contemporary ISEE material, while we simultaneously evaluate the student's individual skill set. A custom study plan is prepared for the ISEE student to devise an effective ISEE review and preparation to optimize the student's time and resources. If the ISEE student has completed a prior ISEE review course with a different team, that knowledge may be integrated into the program. The role of the expert teacher is to quickly teach the ISEE material that is not understood, and not consume time on the material the ISEE student already knows well.
The Atclyff team designs a custom tailored ISEE program in a review class or private tutoring to address each student's specific needs. The content, depth, and scope of our ISEE course may depend on the academic background of the student and ISEE preparation and review completed to date. During the ISEE Quantitative Preparation, foundational skills are discussed in the order of numbers, algebra, geometry, statistics, and probability, and most efficient strategies are established to optimize time and performance on quantitative ISEE sections. In all ISEE prep sessions, major types of language and vocabulary questions as well as most frequently encountered reading comprehension questions are discussed. Atclyff teachers follow the official ISEE publications and train students at all levels and types of ISEE reasoning questions, reading comprehension techniques, and language content that will be tested on the current ISEE. After fundamental reading techniques are reinforced, our teachers will suggest the effective strategies in critical, logical, and analytical reasoning, advanced test-taking, and overall time management to maximize score gains on the ISEE. Atclyff instructors have observed that no single method of ISEE test taking is universally applicable to every student. Therefore, Atclyff students are individually prepared for what may best work for their upcoming ISEE sittings. A simultaneous prep course is available to prepare students for the ISEE. The dual review class is effective, because of the significant repetition and overlap of material between the ISEE and SSAT.
