The ISEE is a standard admission requirement for applications to many prominent independent secondary schools. Most competitive admissions committees look for top-tier performance on the scaled stanine score profile, typically targeting Stanines in the 7 to 9 range. A solid performance on the exam when students apply for matriculation enhances their chances of admission and scholarship consideration. Many schools also accept the SSAT exam scores interchangeably. The ISEE tests mathematical logic, text interpretation, and writing skills under a linear, non-adaptive testing environment. After an initial discussion with the student and the family, our team can suggest if the ISEE, SSAT, or a combined path is best suited for secondary school admissions.

Atclyff offers a rigorous review program for success on the ISEE that is unique in comparison to other national prep courses, self-study guide books, and online platform material. Our approach is to diagnose each student's preliminary strengths and weaknesses on the contemporary ISEE material, while we concurrently assess the candidate's individual skill set. A custom ISEE study plan is prepared for the student to ensure an effective review and preparation to optimize their time and resources. If the candidate has completed a prior ISEE review course with a different team, that knowledge may be incorporated into the new ISEE program. The role of the expert ISEE teacher is to quickly deliver the material that is not understood, and not consume time on the concepts the ISEE student already knows well.

The Atclyff team designs a custom-tailored ISEE program in a review class or private tutoring to address each candidate's specific needs. The content, depth, and scope of our course may depend on the academic background of the student and review completed to date. During the ISEE Quantitative preparation, foundational mathematical skills are discussed across both Quantitative Reasoning and Mathematics Achievement sections, and the most efficient elimination strategies are established to optimize time and performance. In all ISEE prep sessions, major types of synonym matching and sentence completion questions are comprehensively discussed. Atclyff ISEE teachers follow the official Educational Records Bureau publications and train students at all levels and types of verbal reasoning prompts, reading comprehension techniques, and essay writing parameters that will be tested on the current exam. After fundamental reading techniques are reinforced, our teachers will suggest the effective strategies in critical, logical, and analytical reasoning, advanced test-taking, and overall time management to maximize score gains. Atclyff instructors have observed that no single method of test-taking is universally applicable to every ISEE student. Therefore, ISEE candidates are individually prepared for what may best work during their upcoming testing sittings. A simultaneous prep track is available for the SSAT due to the significant repetition and overlap of material between the two exams.
