SSAT is one of the most selective tests that is required for independent secondary school entrance. Most competitive schools expect composite scores in the 85-100% range. A competitive SSAT performance when the student applies for matriculation to the programs may greatly enhance chances of admissions and scholarships. Many competitive schools also accept the ISEE exam scores. SSAT tests both knowledge and skills. After an initial discussion with the student and the family, we can suggest if SSAT, ISEE, or both tests should be included in the study plan and considered for the secondary school admissions.
Atclyff provides SSAT Prep, Review and Tutoring in and around Chicago, Illinois service area.
Atclyff instructors prepare students with review course and one-on-one tutoring at schools and colleges in Chicago, Illinois area.
Atclyff Team offers a rigorous review program for success on the SSAT that is unique in comparison to other national prep courses, self-study guide books, and online platform material. Our approach is to diagnose each student's preliminary strengths and weaknesses on the contemporary SSAT material, while we simultaneously evaluate the student's individual skill set. A custom study plan is prepared for the SSAT student to devise an effective SSAT review and preparation to optimize the student's time and resources. If the SSAT student has completed a prior SSAT review course with a different team, that knowledge may be integrated into the program. The role of the expert teacher is to quickly teach the SSAT material that is not understood, and not consume time on the material the SSAT student already knows well.
The Atclyff team designs a custom tailored SSAT program in a review class or private tutoring to address each student's specific needs. The content, depth, and scope of our SSAT course may depend on the academic background of the student and SSAT preparation and review completed to date. During the SSAT Quantitative Preparation, foundational skills are discussed in the order of numbers, algebra, geometry, statistics, and probability, and most efficient strategies are established to optimize time and performance on quantitative SSAT sections. In all SSAT prep sessions, major types of language and vocabulary questions as well as most frequently encountered reading comprehension questions are discussed. Atclyff teachers follow the official SSAT publications and train students at all levels and types of SSAT reasoning questions, reading comprehension techniques, and language content that will be tested on the current SSAT. After fundamental reading techniques are reinforced, our teachers will suggest the effective strategies in critical, logical, and analytical reasoning, advanced test-taking, and overall time management to maximize score gains on the SSAT. Atclyff instructors have observed that no single method of SSAT test taking is universally applicable to every student. Therefore, Atclyff students are individually prepared for what may best work for their upcoming SSAT sittings. A simultaneous prep course is available to prepare students for the ISEE. The dual review class is effective, because of the significant repetition and overlap of material between the SSAT and ISEE.
